David Garcia bio

David García born in Venezuela in November 6th 2007,  lives in Panama since he was a baby. David is a young piano prodigy with superior musical ability. At the age of 7, he began his formal piano studies with Professor Margarita de Troetsch. Since 2020, he studies with Master Piotr Ockzowski, from Germany. He has recently resumed his face-to-face classes with Professor Luis Troetsch. He has participated in various national and international piano competitions: 1st prize in his category at the 2015 Youth Piano Competition; I prize in his category at the Pianissimo Festival Contest in Medellin, 2017; First Prize in the Concert for Piano and Orchestra category (Haydn Piano Concerto in D Major) of the Youth Piano Competition of Panama; Grand Prix of the Carmel Klavier LATAM contest, Bogotá, Colombia, 2020; II prize (concert category – Grieg Piano Concerto in G Major) and Honorable Mention (solo piano category) of the international Carmel Klavier competition, Indiana/USA, 2021; II prize in the V Future Star International Piano Competition in Connecticut/United States, 2021 and III prize in the Franz Liszt Center contest, Spain, 2021 and the first prize in its category, Panayotis Kitras Medal and Martiza Kitras Prize, in the Contest Youth Piano of Panama 2021. In 2018 he premiered and gave the first audition in Panama, together with the Children's Orchestra of the Metropolitan School of Panama under the direction of Maestro César Castillo, the Concert in 5 movements for piano and Children's Orchestra of the Spanish composer Pablo Berlanga, who lives in Madrid. He has also played with the Academic Orchestra of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Panama under the direction of Maestro Samuel Robles and with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Panama under the direction of Maestro Victor Mata who offered a concert this year in Bogotá, Colombia. David also premiered the work “Ruins of Old Panama” by the Panamanian composer and pianist Blanca Chapman de Tutzauer in 2021. David recently as soloist performed the Edvard Grieg Piano concerto in Caracas Venezuela with the symphony orchestra Gran Mariscal the Ayacucho under the directions Elisa Vegas
